Why You Need to be “Cloud Blogging”

May 25, 2014 by: 0

Maybe you’ve heard that even the Department of Defense (DOD) has moved into cloud storage, but as a blogger why is it for you? You’ve probably used a few cloud technology options before, such as Google Drive or DropBox, but it’s actually really important that you auto backup your blogs into cloud storage starting today. After all, what would happen if you lost all your files?

It seems like once something’s online, it’s there forever…until it isn’t. It might not seem like much work to take a few minutes out of your day to blog, but those minutes add up. Not backing up files is one of the biggest regrets people have, and it’s a hard lesson often learned too late. Whether you’re just blogging for fun or making a living at it, protect your investment. Investments include both time and money.

Take action today

If you’re a serious blogger, you’re probably at least earning some revenue from your blog or helping it to advance your career. This means cloud technology can be a tax write-off for you. This lowers your official earnings so that you pay a lower percentage in taxes and if you have enough write-offs, you might knock yourself down into a lower tax bracket all together. There are always excuses for procrastination, but today is the best day to get on top of storage.

Then there are people who are wary about cloud technology as their sole source of storage due to lack of knowledge. Is it really as secure as other options, is it expensive, and is it easy to use? Many cloud options are totally free up until a certain point, but even daily bloggers can often enjoy free use for several years. Plus, in terms of security, nothing else you can do can compare.

Making the right choice

There are many different cloud solutions available, and you deserve service that’s high quality, affordable, and reputable. Don’t just go with the first one you stumble upon or one that your friend recommends blindly. Take your time, do your research and find the right match for you. What works for a huge corporation probably isn’t the right fit for you unless they offer custom packages. It’s all about the right technology at the right time.
Bloggers can’t go without protecting their goods, which is of course their blogs. Don’t tempt fate or hope disaster doesn’t happen. Your future you will be thankful.
