Starting An Exciting Vacation Blog

April 20, 2015 by: 3

People love to read about the adventures of others. It helps them come up with their own fun vacation ideas of their own or let them live vicariously through someone else’s life. Not everyone is coordinated enough to take a ski vacation and not everyone is daring enough to visit a third world country to donate their time.

It doesn’t matter what kind of vacations you take, even if they are staycations, if you are an avid vacationer why not blog about it and let the masses see how cool your life is, from the visit to the local zoo all the way to the castle tour in Scotland.

How To Get Started

Your first steps are to plan a vacation and set up a blog. Blogging is easy, and for the most part it’s free, unless you want a .com and a host. Put a little money into it if you have it to spare, but otherwise you can just use something like Blogger.

You don’t need to just blog about your actual vacation, you can blog about the planning too. How did you plan it, where did you go through, what made you pick this vacation spot, what things are you going to do while you are on vacation, and whatever else may be interesting to your readers.

Take Your Vacation

It’s safer not to post while you are actually on vacation and never tell people the exact dates you’ll be gone (you’ll just be asking to get robbed). Take a ton of photos while you are on vacation, keep track of fun thoughts and memories while they are happening. It can help to take a little notebook with you to keep track of all the places you visit and exciting things you do.

Enjoy your vacation- don’t make it all just about tracking your every move. If you forget to write something down no one is going to even know what they missed.

Post On Your Blog

It’s up to you when you post your wondrous adventure blog. Post right when you get home, or wait a few days. Make sure you post your awesome photos so that people can be jealous of your great time.

Give people something they can take with them too. Review the hotel you stayed at or your camping spot. Review the museums you visited or the bike rental place you used. These reviews will come in handy. Plus, they don’t have to be part of your adventurous tale, so they can be separate posts that you do over the following month or so.

If you want people to keep coming back to your blog you want to give them a lot of great pictures. Tell your readers what they want to hear, they want to know what your vacation was like- from how cozy the hotel was to how cold the water in the ocean is.
